Island vibes percolating on Venice Ave.
Fresh-squeezed juice, mini donuts and good coffee. American breakfast and lunch favorites alongside Kreyol cooking, the island’s word for Creole: bold, bright, slow-simmered flavor from a small island where Indian, French, African and Chinese kitchens became one. The dishes we grew up on. Something for everybody, a few minutes from Venice Beach.
What to order
Something for everybody at the table.
Spiced, not spicy. Mauritian cooking is about flavor, not fire. Breakfast runs from coconut French toast and pancakes to steak and eggs with Kreyol-style white beans. Bring the friend who wants pancakes and the friend who wants the steak. Nobody settles.
Lunch starts at 11: smash burgers, Philly cheesesteaks and roti wraps. Make it a Trifecta with soup and a side salad or fries for $18.
From an island in the Indian Ocean to Venice Ave.
Indian · French · African · Chinese · One table
Mauritius is a small tropical island where Indian, French, African and Chinese cooks have shared kitchens for centuries. Creole is what grew out of that: one language, one culture, and a way of cooking that borrows from everyone at the table.
That’s the pantry we cook from: roti off the griddle, mine frite the way it’s made at home, and the American breakfast and lunch favorites you already love, made with the same care.
